Methodological approach

CENTRAL ASIAN LAW team will collect (both EU-based and Central Asia-based research teams) the primary and secondary data through:

  1. Institutional analysis and study of the context: the analysis of national legal framework governing business life, property rights and foreign investment; the analysis of national statistics data; newspaper and media monitoring, etc.
  2. Elite and expert interviews and focus group interviews with key actors and decision-makers within law enforcement bodies, judiciary, parliament, relevant ministries, regional and district level governments, business law experts and academics.
  3. Survey of national and international business actors from key sectors
