Tashkent State University of Law

Tashkent State University of Law (Toshkent Davlat Yuridik Universiteti) is the premier higher education institution for legal studies in Uzbekistan. Its origins trace back to the establishment of the legal department at Turkestan State University in 1918. It was reorganized into a specialized institute in 1991 and granted university status in 2013, solidifying its role as the national center for legal education and science.

The university is a central hub for training legal professionals for the state administration, judiciary, and private sector. It serves a student body of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 students, including undergraduates and master's degree candidates. The academic structure is divided into six specialized faculties, such as Public Law, Criminal Justice, Private Law, and International Law. Instruction is delivered by a highly qualified staff of over 250 academics, including numerous Doctors of Science and PhD holders, ensuring a rigorous educational environment.

TSUL is actively expanding its global footprint through international cooperation, maintaining agreements with over 50 foreign universities and research centers across Europe, Asia, and the USA. These partnerships facilitate student exchange programs and joint research initiatives with prestigious institutions like Osaka University, Queen Mary University of London, and Boston Law School. The university's growing reputation is reflected in international rankings, where it has achieved recognition for its commitment to gender equality and innovation.
